Community Guidelines
Last Updated: May 4, 2026 • Version 1.0
1. Why These Guidelines Exist
ActivePath community features — including profile pages, comments, shared routes, photos, achievements, and other user-generated content — exist so that members can motivate each other and share what they've discovered. These Community Guidelines describe what is and is not allowed in those features. They are part of, and incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service.
If you violate these Guidelines, we may remove your content, restrict your access to community features, suspend your account, or terminate it, depending on the severity and pattern of the violation.
2. Be Safe
ActivePath is a fitness app used in real, physical spaces. Safety always comes first.
- Do not share routes that knowingly cross private property without permission, restricted areas, military installations, active construction sites, or any location where access is prohibited
- Do not share routes you have not personally completed unless you make the lack of verification clear in the description
- Do not encourage other users to ignore traffic laws, trespass, or take unsafe risks
- If a route you shared turns out to be unsafe, edit or delete it and (where possible) notify users who saved it
- Do not share routes intended to lure other users into dangerous, isolated, or trap-like situations
3. Be Honest
- Do not falsify manual activity entries, GPS data, or workout results to gain status, badges, or leaderboard positions
- Do not impersonate another person, athlete, coach, or organization
- Do not create multiple accounts to vote, like, comment, or game social or competitive features
- Be transparent when sharing AI-generated routes vs. routes you personally tested
4. Be Respectful
- No harassment, bullying, threats, doxxing, or stalking of any user
- No hate speech or content attacking people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or serious medical condition
- No sexual content, sexual solicitation, or sexual content involving minors of any kind
- No graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
- Disagreement and constructive criticism are welcome — personal attacks are not
5. No Illegal or Harmful Activity
- No content that promotes, sells, or facilitates illegal drugs, weapons, fraud, hacking, or other illegal acts
- No content that infringes another party's intellectual property, trademarks, or publicity rights
- No content that discloses other people's private information (addresses, phone numbers, financial info, identification documents) without their consent
- No content that constitutes the unauthorized practice of medicine, prescribing of medication, or other regulated professional advice
6. No Spam or Manipulation
- No commercial spam, unsolicited promotion, multi-level marketing, or coordinated inauthentic behavior
- No automated posting, scraping, mass-following, or other bot-driven activity
- No content designed primarily to drive traffic to off-platform sites for commercial purposes
- No exploitation of bugs, glitches, or rate-limit gaps to manipulate leaderboards, achievements, or recommendations
7. Children's Safety
ActivePath does not knowingly allow users under 13. Users 13–17 require verified parental consent and operate with heightened privacy protections (private profile by default, no marketing use of their data).
- Any content that sexualizes minors will be removed and reported to the appropriate authorities and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC)
- Adults must not contact minors on the platform for any purpose other than legitimate fitness coaching or family/guardian communication
8. AI-Generated Content
- Do not use ActivePath's AI features to generate content that violates these Guidelines, including content that targets others, generates harassment, or fabricates information about real people
- If you share AI-generated routes or suggestions publicly, treat the AI output as a draft you are responsible for — verify safety and accuracy before sharing
- You may not use ActivePath outputs to train, develop, or evaluate any other AI system or competing product
9. Reporting Content
If you see content that violates these Guidelines, the Terms of Service, or applicable law:
- Use the in-app Report button on the post, comment, or route
- Or email safety@activepath.ai with a description, link, screenshots, and the username of the offender
- For copyright infringement, use the DMCA process described in Section 26 of our Terms (copyright@activepath.ai)
- For imminent threats of self-harm or harm to others, contact local emergency services first (911 in the US), then notify us
We aim to acknowledge reports of imminent safety issues within 48 hours but cannot guarantee any specific response or removal time. We do not provide individual case-by-case explanations of moderation decisions.
10. Enforcement and Appeals
When we determine that content or conduct violates these Guidelines or the Terms, we may take any of the following actions, in our sole discretion and at any time:
- Remove or restrict the content
- Issue a warning to the account
- Restrict access to specific community features (commenting, sharing, leaderboards)
- Suspend the account temporarily
- Terminate the account
- Where required by law, report the content or conduct to law enforcement
Automated moderation tools (profanity filters, abuse detection, route-safety heuristics) are best-effort and may produce both false positives and false negatives. The absence of action is not an endorsement.
If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you believe the action was taken in error, you may submit an appeal to appeals@activepath.ai. We will review timely appeals in good faith but reserve final discretion over moderation and account-status decisions.
11. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document
- Notify users in the App or via email for significant changes
Your continued use of community features after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
